The Problem

A pipeline running faster than its own data.

Action Solar had the sales velocity. What they did not have was confidence in what was coming back from the field. Like most growing EPCs, their survey process depended on sales reps, people who are incentivized to close, not to document. Photos got missed. Conditions got glossed over. The gaps only surfaced downstream, when design teams were building off incomplete site data.

The downstream cost showed up as inflated as-built error rates, design rework, delayed permits, and a slower path to cash, at exactly the moment when speed to install schedule determines whether a company scales or stalls.

The Turning Point

An independent eye changes what you see.

Jordan had already run Radicl at Lumio. When he joined Action Solar, he brought the conviction with him. The internal pitch was simple: stop relying on the people who need the deal to close to also be the ones documenting the site. Bring in a trained third party whose only job is to capture what is actually there.

It gives another perspective to ops and sales. An outside person coming in and gathering the information needed for a true design. Allowing us to catch something a W2 surveyor wouldn't notice, or a sales rep would notice and then wouldn't take a picture of, to hide the information and get us to install faster.

That last line is the real finding. Sales rep surveys do not just miss things by accident. Sometimes they miss things on purpose. Independence removes that variable. What comes back is what is there: documented, QC'd on site, ready to build from.
